Welcome to the Waterloo Region Food Tour!

Please join me on a tour of the many menus throughout the Waterloo Region, as I set out to discover what our local restaurants, cafés, pubs, diners, and eateries have to offer.

Every Friday, I’ll choose one local establishment and share my thoughts on the overall dining experience — from the moment I walk through the door to the last bite.

Each eatery will be judged using my 5 Forks Rating Scale, based on five important ingredients of a great dining experience:

🍴 1. Overall Cleanliness
How clean, comfortable, and well-maintained is the establishment?

🍴 2. Courtesy & Timing
How welcoming and attentive is the staff? How long did it take to be seated, served, and receive the food?

🍴 3. Bathrooms
A restaurant’s bathroom can tell you a lot about how much attention is paid to the details. I’ll be checking cleanliness, condition, and overall upkeep.

🍴 4. Food
The big one! Taste, freshness, presentation, portion size, and overall quality will all factor into the score.

🍴 5. Value
Was the experience worth what I paid? I’ll consider portion size, quality, pricing, and the overall experience when deciding whether a meal delivers good value.

At the end of every review, the five scores will come together to create the establishment’s overall 5 Forks rating.
